NJ Zinefest 2009
I don't have anything to do w/ organizing this year's NJ Zinefest, but here is an email I got from one of the Radigals (the group that puts on the event at Rutgers) when I asked if there would be Zinefest this year. At the bottom is the contact address.

Yes, there will be the NJ ZineFest this year!

It's on Sunday April 19th from 4 to 10pm in Trayes Hall in the Douglass Campus Center.

Joining us this year is an organization that promotes local New Brunswick bands, who will be playing throughout the event.

As always, free admission, free food.

Also, don't miss our annual feminist conference on Saturday April 18th from 11am to 4pm in the Ruth Dill Johnson Crockett Building (162 Ryders Lane) on the Douglass campus. This year's conference is "Halos and Whores: Female Sexuality in Popular Culture"

If you know of anyone that would like to table at the event, please forward them my email address: dnalence@eden. rutgers.edu

Random zinefest info...
Right now it looks like NJ Zinefest will be on April 15.
http://www.njzinefest.8m.com (as of right now the website has not been updated.)

This is the info I've seen for the Boston Zine Fair:
> Boston Zine Fair 2007
> March 24th & 25th
> Pozen Center, MassArt
> Boston, MA

March 24th is also the date for the Denver Zine Fest.

The Richmond Zine Fest will be held Saturday, April 28th, 2007.

If I find out anything else I'll post it, now that there are actual people in this community. :)

SOURGRAPES: A zine of substance!
Hi there,
My name is Sam. I help run a zine called SOURGRAPES ZINE. We're a local zine based in Lexington KY. We focus on teaching kids about D.I.Y. ethics, being posi, and why its important to support local art and music.
I wanted to write not only to introduce our zine to the livejournal zine world! But also to explain our predicament. You see, after a lot of pulling out hair and craziness we've decided to hire on a full-time zine team. We used to be submission based but it was pretty hard on our (then) small team.
So now we're looking for like minded zinesters and punks who support self publication, D.I.Y. ethics, posi beliefs, and who are interested in having some fun creating a great zine and keeping the underground press alive!

We're looking for:

- Columnists
- Interviewers
- Record reviewer **
- Zine reviewers **
- D.I.Y. guide writers **
- Survival guide writers **
- Bike Repair guide writers **
- Cover artists (for upcoming covers)
- Photographers
- Cartoonists (full-time strip)
- Proof readers **
- Printers
- + more!

If you think you could help us out or would like to become apart of our team, we'd love to have you! Write us at SOURGRAPESZINE@GMAIL.COM or through our myspace: http://myspace.com/sourgrapeszine
Once again we are looking for FULL TIME writers/artists (which means we will be interested in your submissions for each issue) were poor and cant pay you but we can offer free ad space, zine copies, zine reviews, and whatever Sam can knit you!

For anyone who has been wondering about the NJ zinefest, sorry it's taken so long to say anything about it, the school was extremely slow in confirming our room reservation. At this point, we wonder if we should push it back a week to give people more time to plan for it.

April 3 or April 10? Send your preferred date in by Friday.
